Fuior – restaurant in Chisinau with a reinvented traditional design
A design where tradition meets modern times.
The project of this restaurant, with the authentic name “Fuior” brings back the traditional Romanian motifs. In order to create a harmonious and contemporary interior design, the space was conceived as a mixture of loft style influences and traditional motifs. The brick and concrete have been heated with the warm texture of the natural wood, the entire atmosphere being furnished out by upholstered seats in pastel colours.
To enhance the architecture of the venue, we opted for a moderate lighting, using, on the one hand, minimalist lighting fittings with warm and discreet light, and on the other hand – massive oxidized metal chandeliers meant to add to the restaurant a sense of nobility of the old times.
The main traditional elements used in the project were the floral decorations inspired by authentic embroidery and textiles used on the terrace. To get detached from other architecture projects in traditional style, we combined the specific accents with a lot of elegance so that the atmosphere would be truly relaxing.
