This interior design project is an illustration of a fusion of times. It is due to the integration of contemporary style and furniture within the context of a historic villa. Our goal was to create an inner harmony where the atmosphere has signs of time melancholy and visions of a modern lifestyle. We obtained a combination that inspires with the created atmosphere, but also with the temporal antithesis that grants it.
As we had a specific planning, the project had a lot of challenges, but also provided opportunities. We opted for sober colours to maintain the status of the building, which is a monument of architecture. On the other hand, with the view to ensure balance we have used calm hues. The recovery of the interior took place both at the level of functionality and aesthetics. Expensive materials emphasize the nobility of architecture. A significant contribution to the maintenance of the features characteristic of the era from which it originates was the preservation of the authentic aesthetic details integrated in the interior design of the villa. We did not intervene at the planning level and kept all the components of the construction. Still we borrowed the idea of ornaments from the railing and placed them on the doors.
The living room enjoyed special attention. In this area we have an open space on both floors of the villa. Our goal was to offer ephemerality without giving the feeling of emptiness. We opted for massive suspended lighting fixtures and furniture items worked in simple lines, which come as a chromatic accent of the premises. We used succinct lines throughout the premises, leaving the authenticity to dominate.
