Multifunctional complex in Cluj-Napoca: simple and efficient architectural design
Whenever we have to design a multifunctional complex we intend to combine in it all the necessary spaces, harmoniously integrating the concept in the context in which it is located. Although familiar by the concept, the project of this multifunctional complex in Cluj-Napoca has its shadow of individuality. Due to the fact that it is also about living spaces, we designed the blocks on the perimeter of the existing land lot, thus obtaining an isolated space, intended for children’s playground and recreation of the dwellers.
The location and planar geometry of the blocks has been designed so that each of them has sufficient light and green areas. In addition to arranging the spaces near the buildings with living plants, we also opted for the creation of green terraces, thus increasing the green areas and ensuring a more efficient air filtration in the residential area. Commercial and office spaces were designed on the outer part of the complex to ensure easy access and at the same time a high degree of privacy for the residents.
At the same time, we took care of creating the exterior in a sophisticated way, based on straight lines, reserved colour range and avoiding unnecessary details. The laconic lines give the complex a modern look, contrasting with the green areas, this fact underlines two directions of contemporary urban development: functionality and green environment.
